![]() ![]() ![]() I've found parts showing the fog lamp, but not anything showing the correct mounting hardware.Īny help is greatly appreciated! After initially being rather afraid of the costs I might incur, I'm starting to feel that this is a project I may be able to do myself. I've attached it with bolts, washers and nuts but would like to do it 'right'. Wiper/Washer Wiring Diagram, Sedan for Mercedes-Benz C230 2002. ![]() Is that a common replacement part, too?ĥ-Lastly, the fog lamp had absolutely no screws, clips, etc. I replaced the bulb and inserted back into the housing but the lamp doesn't illuminate, so I'm thinking the socket may be bad. My questions are:ġ- Where is the ambient temperator sensor located (and what does it look like in case I find it still attached?Ģ- I don't know what the smaller connector in the photo is for, or where it attaches (it is shown in the photo just above the fog lamp connector)?ģ-Also, there is about 24-30 inches of wire running from these connectors which has stripped and broken from the remainder of the wiring, but I'm not sure where to start looking to find the other end of this harness?Ĥ-Also, the RH side marker bulb and harness was pulled from the housing. I know the larger connector is for the fog lamp bulb. I've attached a photo of the panel and the wiring. I unplugged the fog lamp fixture and it appears to be in good shape, but I haven't figured out quite where the other end of the harness goes? I've searched to discover that the ambient temperature sensor is somehow located in the area of this fog lamp (but don't know exactly where?), and have the '+185 degree' reading on the dash console (and the CEL indicates an issue with the ambient temp harness). I heard a scraping sound, stopped, found the lamp hanging by its harness and the inner fender panel was literally torn loose with a portion of wiring harness dragging on the ground. Sure enough, it fell out of its housing location and dislodged the right inner panel from the fender. When I took possession I noticed that the right front fog lamp (AMG-style) didn't seem to be secured properly. Can communicate with the SAM and no related errors, but no blown fuses or anything like shorted wires I can locate.I have an '06 C230 Sport. Since all these problems showed up a the same instance, only related point I can find is the SAM. Unplugged at the radiator and short remains. Tested the fan circuit at the relay, got power coming in but short to ground on the outlet port. Unplugged the coolant level sensor and message remains. So why am I looking at the SAM? When it limped, it also set a "low coolant" light and the cooling fan stopped working. Still no power to any other motor or MAF with it unplugged. Jacked the car up and the nearside front wheel has a little bit of play in it when moved side to side. The car Mercedes C180 - W203 still has a slight knock from the nearside front when going over bumps/irregularities especially at low speeds. But that's what I expected to find if it's the cause. In the last 10 months I have replaced BOTH lower control arms and BOTH drop links. Did notice the turbo charge pressure positioner is a possible issue due to finding some continuity to ground on the hot side there. Even unplugged every motor, EGR, and MAF to look for a short, and tested again with no luck. However, once I tried to isolate which motor is acting up with a Snap-On tool, I found nothing that shared that same hot circuit was getting power or responding to function test commands. Typical related codes 0100, 2527, 2530, 2526 showing a short to ground. Trying to diagnose a possible front SAM module issue on my 05 E320 CDI before diving into replacing it.Ĭar is in limp mode due to codes related to the "Inlet port shutoff motor" or "charge pressure positioner".
